Friends, humans, Christmasans1: It’s time for your voices to be heard on one of the most important and controversial topics of our time.
No, it’s not not whether Timothée Chalamet can pull off blonde.2
It’s: Holiday Movies.
A regular post is coming this week with a veritable LAUNDRY list of things I’m watching this month.3
But this is not that. Tonight, I am coming to you to prepare for a “Best Holiday Movies” roundup with YOUR input.
SO: I wanna know your favorite holiday movie!
You can read that however you want.
The best Christmas/Holiday movie of all time? Your personal favorite that not enough people appreciate? The one you watch all year long? Your hottest and most controversial take on what qualifies as a holiday movie?
Whatever your gut or the Spirit of Christmas Past, Present, or Future tell you when I ask, “What is your favorite holiday movie?” I want to know. You can give more than one for context, but try to pick your TOP ONE. [As someone whose favorite flavor of ice cream was always rainbow sherbert, I KNOW how hard narrowing down a choice is.]
Here’s the other important part: Give me about 25 words on why it made the top of your list.
Send me your answer any way that makes sense: In the comments on this post (my preference!), as an email reply, as an Instagram DM, as a text, as a pony express, by owl or pigeon or Christmas elf.
I’ll consolidate answers and publish them in a Holiday Christmas extravaganza.
It’s time for the people to hear what YOU have to say! 🎄
See you back here soon!
And all holidays!
Obviously, he can! I call it Draco Malfoy’s American Cousin Chic.
Right now, I am heading out to the Angelika [NYC’s most pretentious but also most run-down, pre-2000s movie theater] for a personal double feature of “A Real Pain” and “Nickel Boys.”
Can I put forth two? Muppet’s Christmas Carol for all of Becky’s reasons. Also It’s a Wonderful Life - it makes the best case for kindness and love as the true measure of a man/life without downplaying the struggle and loss of a life sacrificed for others.
While You Were Sleeping
The best 90s rom-com Christmas movie that is always forgotten in the Christmas movie conversation. Sandra Bullock in her prime!!
