I do in fact use Chat GPT for work (judge me) mostly to write emails where I need to push back on someone. I am not a confrontational person and so it helps me get started… obviously I personalize it in my own voice but it helps me know where to start.
*whispers* I’ve never seen a Mission Impossible movie… maybe I should try them.
Good Hang is a little bright spot in my week and I just love it!
I DON'T judge you for using Chat GPT for work! I think it's great for most work, just in journalism it's very dicey. I feel like it's perfect for making things more efficient and helping write emails, etc. That's a great use. I would judge someone for using it to write things that they then published as their own original work haha.
NEVER?! Whoa, and Hannah and I were HOMESCHOOLED! 🤯😅 But then, we were determined to catch up on all the things we’d missed/cultural references we’d been pretending to understand. 😂
I know! It's a little crazy, There is a rather large gap with like late late 90's early 00's movies for me, because my parents were more strict on that. I've been trying to catch up over the years. I am really not sure how MI slipped through as movies I hadn't seen.
To be fair, I didn't watch all the Mission: Impossibles until 2023!! Though, as I went through them with Ben, I realized while watching that I HAD seen two of them; the more recent ones.
No way my parents were comfortable with the level of implausible sexiness of those women or the fact that the women were such disposable characters, and that I do salute my parents for!
The first 90 minutes of Mission 8 were trash. It would have been easier to follow if the boom mike was just the mini mic that you used at the Kentucky Derby...at least I would have been able to watch that little mic going back and forth between inane dialogue. Ha.
Beth, so agree about the first 90 minutes being trash — and also delighting at the image of someone trotting around with a tiny Athletic mic trying to keep up with Tom Cruise! Thanks for the belly laugh 😆
I love these takes because I do feel they are sizzling! So you WATCH them! I only listen to them and it's quite a different experience. I really enjoyed the Paul Rudd one, but mostly just because I like anecdotes about actors' lives and how they came up. It was like an oral history of Clueless lol. The Hamm balloon thing had me DYING laughing, but because I couldn't see it, I was just listening to Amy fall apart with laughter and imagining what she was seeing.
I have to say that the Michelle Obama one, I actually felt like she and Poehler didn't actually have the best chemistry? So both of them were trying very hard to keep the conversation flowing "naturally" but I felt like there were so many moments Michelle in particular seemed to be feeling "Oh god, when is this over." I admit I probably imagined ALL of that. There were GLOWING moments, though, like when Michelle said "Wowww. Strange" about the tiny Cheez-it box. I BURST out laughing every time I watch that. JUST listened to the Mike Schur one and completely agree. Elite. Remember cigarettes hahaaaa
I use Claude because I am utterly and disgustingly salmon-like in my need to do things differently.
(I use it max three times / week and it’s almost always to help me sort out a very complex work question. Don’t use it to help me write but rather to help solve some hellish strategic loophole thing).

Nice recaps as always!

Also I’ve been watching Poehler religiously. Some takes:
Both the Michelle Obama and Paul Rudd ones were extremely boring to me. I think I’m the devil.
Jack Black still makes me laugh. I think I’m the devil.
The Jon Hamm balloon thing wasn’t funny to me. I think that’s a normal take
The Mike Schur episode was perfect. I’m a P&R hardcore and I hate the office so again, the devil.
My Kathryn Hahn crush is never-ending.
“Remember cigarettes”? is one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard.

Kathryn Hahn, perfect.

LOL how are you not an enneagram 4 or 5 with this energy
Too hardcore of a people pleaser / helper to be anything else. I like to help … other salmon? 🧐
hahahaha I HEAR YA.
Also, I'm a little obsessed with Claude and how it's kind of a narc. 😂
“TAKE ALL MY MONEY, NETFLIX OVERLORD!” 😂😂
And your alternative title for the newsletter. 🤣
We haven’t watched the latest mission impossible yet but I can’t waaaaait to see what you’re referring to about Tramell Tillman!!
The amount of times I have spell-checked Meghann!!! It's like I look away for a split second and doubt myself again!
Can't wait to hear your review of the new MI and Tramell.
me seeing you using AI: 😐
me reading that you didn't like the new M:I: 😱
me when Taylor bought back all her new albums with the $ I have given her over the years: 😏
