My fav sequel season (probably of all time) is Pushing Daisies Season 2. That show was PERFECT. I'm forever gutted that we didn't get any more seasons (but maybe it's for the best and the show would have jumped the shark). Feel the same way about Hannibal (also Bryan Fuller!) - it's like Pushing Daisies but the saturation is being turned up on blood instead of pie ingredients.
This post kinda gave hater vibes but in the nicest way (lover vibes, hater words). Justice for teenage Hannah and cringe queens everywhere tho.
I cannot believe you talked about Pushing Daisies and then I talked about Pushing Daisies separately in a totally different post! Clearly we deserved more Pushing Daisies!! The most perfect show!!!
“Teenaged Hannah learned enough HTML to create an Arwen-themed LiveJournal.“ 🤣🤣 #witness #accomplice
“This Emily Brontë is the main character of Taylor Swift’s Folklore.“ 😂😂😂 I now know what this movie will be like!! Hahahaaaa.
I lovvvved that Melanie Lynskey article, too!! And of course just love Melanie Lynskey. “Maybe it’s just about unraveling the inner lives of women who are not usually examined.” 😭😭🙌🏼🤩
Thank you for speaking the TRUTH about Ted Lasso! Season 2 was so bad. I haven’t seen season 3 but somehow I know your description of it is pitch perfect. I continue to be baffled by the popularity of that show.
Obvi, Succession season 4 is at the top of the list for me. It’s bittersweet that it’s the last season, but smart of them to control the ending before it might jump the shark - or could it even? I could watch the Roy family being their same awful selves for years 😂.
The whole time I watched Season 2 of Ted Lasso I felt the way I feel when I'm watching bad live comedy -- so much secondhand embarrassment and manic fake laughter trying to WILL them to be better than they are. Horrible. lol
I'm so glad Succession decided to cap it off this season. Just smart to go out on top, even though I'll miss them. But you're kind of right about it maybe not being possible for them to jump the shark? Like...nearly every episode is jumping the shark and that's half the comedy of it, like look at these complete maniacal idiots. 😂

Oh and I RELISH imagining how much you would HATE the Emily Bronte movie.
Melanie for all women everywhere!!!!
