I was about to fight you about my girl Christine Baranski until I saw you included her in the exceptions links - I love her so much and she is the only reason I'm even considering watching The Gilded Age. But also watching period pieces makes me think of all the atrocities of society at the time and I struggle to not just dwell on that. If I hate watch it, I will reach out to you to gab.

You're totally right that this is a slow season for new content. I did, however, start watching The Book of Boba Fett this weekend and I'm enjoying it. The show struggles with not having a theme AND relying a little too heavily on nostalgia (both for "old" SW and for The Mandalorian") but I am happy to turn off my brain and enjoy my little stories.

Sarah has a great point, I would love to see more Hannah Science Corner!!

Ah, yay for more science fans! I'll add that to my rotation if I can think of other topics I'm interested in!

Oh, Ms Baranski is one of THREE reasons I am still hooked to (slash, kind of obsessed with!?) this dumb show. haha She's so convincing, and the fact that almost everyone else is so unconvincing makes it that much more impressive. Love her.

Gah, I gotta get on Boba Fett -- I haven't been interested at all, but so many fans are saying it's pretty worthwhile. I am happy to rely heavily on nostalgia haha

Thinking I need a regular Hannah Science Corner in my life (or it needs a regular place in this newsletter??), because, HOLY F--- that description was worth a whole email?!?!!!!!!! The "tiny robotic arms unfolding tiny robotic fingers unfolding giant robotic mirrors like a freaking TRANSFORMER in the middle of Space" .... !!!!

Also, I canNOT wait to watch The Afterparty now, and I will definitely be giving The Gilded Age a wide berth (contrary to prior plans).

Isn't it CRAZY!?!?!?! I am so excited about this telescope even though I'm sure that when we eventually get photos from it, most of us won't really understand how they're so groundbreaking until we read up about it.

hahahaha dang I would love to hear you complain about The Gilded Age. 😂 But yeah I don't know that it's worth your limited time. haha.

Måneskin is famous for winning last year’s Eurovision!!!! The best camp entertainment available to us in the 21st century! (I didn’t see their win coming, but I guess Europe felt the time for an eyeliner-wearing sexytime rock resurgence had come.) And yes, you’re right…once they won, their cover of “Beggin’” took over TikTok. I can’t get past their novelty factor, but they made it to SNL, so maybe they’ll keep showing up??

Oh you've totally closed the loop in my brain! Eurovision! THAT'S it. TikTok has washed all other culture away. hahahaa

I didn't watch Eurovision this year but man I feel like it needs to become an annual event. You watch?

Also, it's funny you mention eyeliner-wearing sexytime rock because I had written how sexy and gorgeous the lead singer was but then cut that in my edit because my post was way too long.😅 But like wow what a symmetrical face.

Omg you and I are on the same page about this man’s face and general vibe - like, I don’t know what we would talk about, but he’s very riveting 😅

I am a Eurovision devotee, yes!! I love everything about it, including getting into the political reasons why one country would be sending all of their votes to some other country (“How do they know each other?” vibes), or seeing who decides to speak out about human rights violations in the host country (Azerbaijan’s host year was memorable to me). And there’s of course the more surface-level jollity of it all, and if I’m lucky I get to stream the Graham Norton-hosted version! I support any commitment to Eurovision viewing!

I'm convinced! I can't remember why I didn't watch this year, I think just jumped on the the bandwagon too late and felt like I'd rather wait and get involved at the start.

The Graham Norton-hosted version sounds like everything I want from TV all the time. lol

I do think Taylor’s ten minute “All Too Well” performance was the most iconic SNL musical guest performance all season, for what it’s worth!
