I know that I have cried watching movies on planes but I do not recall exact titles. I need to start tracking tears in my letterboxd reviews. I did sob watching GOTG3 in theaters, though.
Oooh I'm so glad you like Hijack! I've been wanting to check it out because I love Archie Panjabi (famously frenemies with her TGW costar Julianna Margulies - was it because lesbians were shipping their characters?? we'll never know). If you have not already deep dived on this mystery before, I commend it to you as frivolous on-set drama to speculate about (they filmed their last scene together SEPARATELY!)
woah I had NO IDEA about the Archie/Julianna feud! Deep-diving on this mystery now lol. I never watched The Good Wife regularly, but went through a little phase with it when one of my roommates was bingeing it.
This is not about crying on airplanes... but I'm so sad you've only now found Top Chef - just in time for Padma's departure!!! Have fun watching all the back seasons!!
Not a movie experience, but this did dislodge the memory of being on that 98,239,182-hour flight with you back from Delhi -> eschewing sleep to read Cormac McCarthy's The Road in one sitting -> fully dissociating -> stumbling into the blinding sun of the airport to have a personal Shawshank-Tim-Robbins in-the-rain-moment in front of a Panda Express. AIRPLANE ART HITS DIFFERENT. Also: For bonus good sobs gotta read "Foster," Claire Keegan novella that The Quiet Girl is based on.
I am shaking with laughter! I had totally forgotten about that, but now I remember that witnessing your out of body experience is why I then ended up reading The Road, also on an airplane and fully dissociating. 😂 Remind me, were you also reading it on the TRAIN ?? I think that could've induced a full body panic!
Putting Foster on my To-Read list. I imagine it must be soooo rich.
LOOOOOL!!!! I was just talking about this, too! One time when I was sitting next to my mother-in-law on a transatlantic flight (first mistake?), I for some reason chose to watch Atomic Blonde (second mistake!) and an announcement came on the PA right when a sex scene started and it was just frozen there, in front of God and my mother-in-law and everyone.
Love reading all your commentary, as always!!

I know!!! I'm devastated she's leaving! But there are soooo many seasons, I'm not too worried about a lack of Padma in my life lol.
I am a regular airplane movie crier. The worst, by far, have been The Hollars and Heart Beats Loud. Just embarrassingly sobbing.
Ryenn, I have never seen EITHER of those movies and am promptly adding them to my airplane list!

Your comments about watching videos on the plane reminded me of this TikTok I saw the other day: https://www.tiktok.com/@trevorwallace/video/7262875616804932907?lang=en
