I am loving HOTD S2 so far. You know I love slow, character-driven dramas and boardroom politics! But in the category of too-quick payoff, I was hoping (for obvious reasons) that the whole twin brother prank would last at least another episode. Was excited for some hijinx.

Yes, well said, this has been so character-driven in the best way.

The twin thing is EXACTLY what I was thinking of when I said some of the payoffs were too fast. The pacing gave me whiplash; I really expected that to take a few episodes to develop and get us more invested -- and like you said, HIJINX!

I too am here for HOTD, I will let that theme song and the events that happen afterward continue to ruin me for as long as it wishes. I stand by my previous comments that Sir Criston is in fact a "baby back bitch". I loved all of the ACTING that was done in the quiet of these initial episodes!

Ser Baby Back Bitch ughhhhhhhhhhh he's the worst.

Yes to the ACTING, the character development, I am eating it up.

I am HERE FOR the HOTD content. Ep 2 had some amazing dramatic scenes, Rhaenyra and Daemon talking about trust is the kind of fantasy content we've never seen before and is so much more fulfilling than "zombies are coming" for 8 years. Workplace drama between Criston and Erryk, telling your boss (and grandson) that he has no idea what he's doing at his job, and everything about Helena's weird but somehow most relatable depiction.

Woohoo!! Love hearing from the HOTD fans! Yes, such a great point about the dramatic scenes and character development. So much interesting politicking and family tragedy etc. One of my favorite little details from episode two was the 2-3 Night's Watch guys who got up and left when Criston and Erryk started fighting. Very relatable workplace drama.

I like how you describe Helena's "weird but somehow most relatable depiction." yes, well said! She is pulling this character off really well.
